With over 30 years of experience in the marine industry, Seymour Browne began his marine career learning then maintaining yachts for several years, This progressed to include yacht management and deliveries within the Caribbean for various charter companies. While working with Sunsail for example he had the opportunity to prepare and escort several yachts by freighter to Mediterranean ports. He went on to obtain his RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence with an STCW Commercial Endorsement
. With this qualification he worked on general cargo vessels and later joined a high speed passenger ferry as first mate where he acquired experience in the maintenance and seaworthiness of larger vessels along with safety and crowd management and employing the ISM / ISPS Code. He went on to command other fast ferries with periods between when he would skipper yacht charter vessels. Following further studies, he obtained a Diploma in Small Craft Surveying from Lloyds Maritime Academy and today utilises the latest technology and techniques to ensure accurate survey results.

Professional Marine Services
Pre-Purchase Surveys
We can provide you with a comprehensive understanding of a boat’s condition and value. We can identify any potential problems and provide a solid foundation from which to negotiate a purchase.
We can conduct either an in-water or out- of water survey and if desired a sea trial to ascertain the vessel’s equipment and performance while under way.
A report will include the following;
- Out of water below the water line (blisters, moisture readings, propeller and shaft, keel, rudder, cathodic protection.
- Vessel documents, vessel hull number.
- Mask and riggings.
- Safety equipment's / navigation equipment's
- AC / DC electrical equipment's.
- Steering systems / shifting gears systems.
- Bulkheads / stringers and structural stiffing
- Pushpit, pulpit, lifelines, stanchions, davits and jackstays.
- Deck gears and fittings / hatches, port holes and port lights.
- Keel bolts.
- LPG systems.
- Engine and gearbox and components..
- Water and fuel tanks -capacity, piping , hoses, clamps and there conditions.

Pre-Sale Survey
Should you wish to sell your boat and are not sure what condition to have it in and what price to ask. We can advise you on the issues that need to be corrected before the vessel is put on the market. In addition we can advise on the price to ask and give you an official document to present to the buyer as to the conditions and value of the vessel. This report will contain the same detail as a Pre-Purchase Survey
Insurance Survey
Insurance Companies generally require an initial survey prior to issuing coverage and ongoing surveys at regular intervals to ensure your vessel continues to be seaworthy. We will provide a report for your Insurance Company similar to a pre purchase survey and determine the value of the vessel using the BUC values. Where issues are found that affect the seaworthiness of the vessel they will be noted along with recommendations to correct them. .
